The Italy of 1940 was controlled by a fascist by the name of Benito Mussolini who took full control of the government on the 23 of September 1943. Mussolini began as a humble allied soldier who returned to find his country in a shamble of political parties. He decided that he knew the way to salvation so in 1922 he lead a march of business men, soldiers and common people threw Rome and demanded that he be instated as prime minister of Italy. As Prime Minister Benito steadily took control of the government he turned Italy into a one party state. On Christmas Eve he made a bold move by dissolving the constitution and changing his title to Head of Government.
